IBM STADIUM 12-12-2010

Holes can be seen in the Metrodome's collapsed inflatable roof after a weekend storm dumped 17 inches of snow on Minneapolis.
- The Vikings' game with the N.Y. Giants was moved to Monday night at Detroit's Ford Field.

- The NFL said Thursday it is committed to playing Monday night's Chicago Bears-Minnesota Vikings game in Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota.

The site of the game had been thrown into flux because of the collapse of the Metrodome roof and lingering concerns about the readiness of the university's TCF Bank Stadium to handle an NFL game. But league spokesman Greg Aiello told the Chicago Tribune the game will be at the college field

"The decision has been made. If the situation changes and something unusual happens, we'll adjust. But there are no indications we wouldn't be able to play the game there. It's full steam ahead preparing the field and the stadium for a game on Monday."

There are logistical challenges at TCF Bank Stadium. There are mountains of snow that need to be field; the stadium had previously been shuttered for the winter; its capacity is more than 10,000 seats less than the Metrodome; and it was not built to host football in conditions like the bitter cold forecast for Monday night.
